Can't install ServletExec AS 5.0 on RedHat
01/06/11 5:20 PM

I'm trying to install ServletExec AS 5.0 on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.3, but it keeps failing with the following error:

tail: cannot open `+1962' for reading: No such file or directory

The download file appears to be corrupted. Please refer
to the Troubleshooting section of the Installation
Instructions on the download page for more information.
Please do not attempt to install this archive file.

ServletExec installation aborting on failure!
See /tmp/SEinstall.log for log of installation.

Exiting ServletExec AS installer...

The + option of the tail command on RHEL 5 does not work. I am wondering if there are other installer file that works on RHEL 5. Thanks for your help.

I googled 'tail cannot open' and found people having this problem with installing a java package. They were able to fix it by setting the following environment variable before invoking the installer:

$ export _POSIX2_VERSION=199209
$ ./ServletExec_AS_50.sh

Let us know if that works for you.
