7.1 update for mac?
08/07/09 12:00 PM
Just saw that you've updated BD7 to 7.1. Currently using the Free version for local dev (mac) and Server JX 7.0.1 for production (win).
Is there a way to test 7.1 locally on my mac before I ask them to update the production box?

We've discontinued support for BD Server JX on Mac OS X with the 7.1 release. Your options for developing on Mac OS X are: (1) install BD/JEE on top of Tomcat, Jetty, or JBoss; or, (2) test using a virtual machine running Windows. Because your production server is running Windows, I'd probably choose option #2.

Vince,
Since development version of BlueDragon doesn't accept connections from external IP-addresses option 2 doesn't really solve this.

Can you run a browser within the same VM in which BD is running? That should work.

Vince,
That of course works but if someone chooses to work with a Mac in the first place they aren't very likely to prefer running a browser inside virtual machine.

agreed… also, Not all of us are on intel machines yet.
Guess I'll be on 7.0.1 for the foreseeable future.
Just out of curiosity, is it that much harder to to compile for mac?
