ABCpdf - access denied
03/21/13 12:57 PM

Hi, We are moving from 32-bit server to 64-bit Windows 2008 R2. Installed latest version of BD.NET - 7.11. I am getting the error:

"Could not load file or assembly 'ABCpdf' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied."

We do have impersonation on and the user is in the Administrators Group.

I've gotten beyond that error and now have:

"Could not load file or assembly 'CFX.Unmanaged, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=11bb4dd07414e1bc' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format."

Any clues?

We ran into this issue when we migrated from Server 2003 to Server 2012, and New Atlanta Support told us the following:

BD.NET 7.1 will run on Windows Server 2012. The issues with using it are:

1. The cfdocument tag won’t work because the 3rd party library it uses, ABCPDF, only works with IE8 and earlier and IE8 won’t install on Windows Server 2012. We don’t have a contract with them to use their latest version. We’ve switched to a different product with BD.NET 9.

2. It uses Visual J# Version 2.0 Redistributable Package Second Edition which has a Mainstream Support End Date of 10/9/2012 and an Extended Support End Date of 10/10/2017.

So, in short is is because Server 2008 probably doesn't have IE 8 anymore, which is why the ABCPDF.dll is failing.
